Harlin came into our lives on Sept.2/07. We picked him up from a foster home in Toronto. We have so many beautiful and loving memories of him…
He would sit by the heat vent so that the soft warm air would blow through his ears as he gently turned his head from side to side. He could do that for hours. We could watch the simplistic beauty of it for a lifetime. He hated the cold weather of course but took great delight in continually scooping up and munching ice chunks off the sidewalk. Harlin was a licker, big time!!! Especially right after your shower when you were all nice and clean. Elbows, arms, top to bottom. Getting between the toes was a #1 priority 😀 He worshiped the sun as we worshiped him. Our little boy was a unique JR. He took the words “laid back” to a whole new level. He was never hyper, always relaxed and calm; a little “love sponge.”
To no longer be able to kiss you, snuggle you, smell you and see you when we walk in the door leaves an ache and hole in our lives deeper then the Grand Canyon, but, our love must be selfless and unconditional.
Harlin, our handsome little man. You whispered in my ear and looked deeply into my eyes. “Mommy, I am sick, I am tired and I need to go now, all my friends are waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge and it is now my time to go too.” OK, I thought, OK my baby.
Harlin left us on Monday April 3rd and he is young, strong healthy and free of pain again. What a beautiful world it was to have him with us.
We love you Harlin, we miss you and we will never forget you sweetheart. Godspeed. XOXO
Forever in our hearts.
