No More Wandering the Seas: Finding Jack Sparrow a Furever Home

Many of us are familiar with the character Jack Sparrow from the film, Pirates of the Caribbean. In the movie, Sparrow is a member of the Brethren Court, the Pirate Lords of the Seven Seas. A man who can be treacherous but survives mostly by using wit and negotiation rather than weapons or force. He would rather flee dangerous situations and only fight where necessary.

Here at JRTRO, we have our very own Jack Sparrow. A little like his namesake, our Jack is definitely a lover rather than a fighter. Also true to his terrier nature, he is a very witty and smart; but unlike the on-screen character, our Jack is definitely far from treacherous and loves nothing more than to snuggle close to his person.

jack-sparrow-01Jack is 8 years old and a wonderful dog in so many ways. He gets along with other dogs, is housetrained, walks well on a leash and knows his basic commands. He would do best in a household with no cats, due to his strong prey drive, or young children, who make him a little nervous.

He is a very affectionate boy who loves his cuddles and one-on-one time. He has been through a lot these past few months, moving from the US and to different foster homes but has adjusted very well with all the change. He is healthy and has a happy disposition. He would be a great addition to the right family and would give years of joy and love to his new owners.

Here is what his foster mom has to say about little Jack:

Jack is an absolute dream. He is really cute and gets along with my dog, Ruby, who loves him. Jack listens well, is very quiet and has not made a mistake in the house. We take Jack on walks with Ruby and he walks well on a leash and doesn’t bark at passing dogs. What a lovely boy. We can’t say enough about him.

Initially we crated him while we were at work, which wasn’t a problem at all. But recently we went out all day and left both dogs out and came home to a perfect home. We suspect they both slept the afternoon away on their own beds. He has such spunk and a great personality. He is such a fun dog to have around. We love the boy.
